Thermal image of Scottsdale and northern Tempe, Arizona.  Image width equals 13.5 km. This Landsat thematic mapper image is a section of Figure 5.  This Landsat thematic mapper band 6 image displays energy emitted from the earth's surface as a function of surface temperature.  Brighter tones show surfaces having hotter temperatures, while darker surfaces are cooler.  The image acquisition date is June 24, 1992.
